Fiscal responsibility is important to us at Canadian Feed The Children and is achieved through
our mandate to focus resources on the children and communities
we serve; to be highly accountable to our donors; and to uphold
our vital programming principles, which have been adapted from
the United
Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. These principles
include gender equality, environmental responsibility, community
participation, partnership and ethical allocation of resources.
In 2009, we directed 84 per cent of our $18.7 million budget
to our programs for children; 12 per cent was directed to fundraising
activities; and 4 per cent went to administration expenses. In addition to funding important child development programs in seven countries, this past year we provided life-saving medicines such as antibiotics, antipyretics,
antibacterial, anti-malarial and tuberculosis drugs to grateful communities in Haiti and Uganda. Read more about our medicine shipments. For a full picture of how your donations
help children, please see our program
pages or our annual reports. Read more about our fundraising and administration activities.
With our fiscal year being the calendar year, you can expect
our 2010 financial statements to be available in mid-spring of
2011.
