Hello from Canadian Feed The Children. We hope you enjoy reading about the many ways you help us help children. You’re receiving this e-newsletter because you’ve signed up to receive it or because you’ve previously supported our child development programs. As always, thank you so much for sharing our goal to reduce the impact of poverty on children. Together, we’re making an important, lasting difference. All of us here at Canadian Feed The Children wish you the very best of the season and a wonderful New Year.

It's not too late!

Watching children grow well in Sierra Leone

Our Njala Komboya project in Sierra Leone is driven by women - 26 women from 26 different households with a total of 84 children under the age of five. The group has been trained to perform monthly growth monitoring on their children in the aim of improving their health. One of the women, Ms. Victoria James, extends her thanks and appreciation to Canadian Feed The Children donors for support given to "we the women in Njala Komboya". Ms James has a few other words to say about the project and how our supporters have helped this group of women keep their children healthy. Read more.

Child checkup

A child is weighed and measured by the women’s group we support in the community of Njala Komboya, outside of Freetown.

2008

Is this the year you sponsor a child?

Why not start the new year off by joining our family of child sponsors? We work closely with our partners in Bolivia, Ethiopia, Haiti and Uganda to lessen the challenges of poverty that children and their families face every day. Our child sponsors give every month so children can go to school, eat good food, drink clean water and get the health care that is so often out of reach. If you are interested in sponsoring a child with Canadian Feed The Children, please call our Supporter Services team at 1-800-387-1221 or visit us online:

THANK YOU!
Because of your generous donations in 2007, Canadian Feed The Children has worked with 33 local partners in eight countries around the world to help thousands of children. We've shipped
medicine to communities that had been struggling to treat their sick children. We've helped build wells, repair schools, harvest food, serve meals and give parents, caregivers and children what they need to be as strong, productive and healthy as possible. Thank you!

In action for children

elaine and ben

We are proud to have such dedicated, passionate people in our community who have decided to take action by fundraising for children affected by poverty. Whether it’s a canoe trip, a beautiful custom quilt or a students’ fashion show, our community-based donors are making an important difference for children, and for that we thank them wholeheartedly!

Tessa

Check out some of their creative initiatives.

A word from Jim

As Executive Director of Canadian Feed The Children, I see first-hand the amazing support we're able to give children and their families because of our caring supporters. I know how careful donors are in making the decision to support a charity, and I'm proud that we honour the confidence entrusted in us by making every dollar count here at Canadian Feed The Children. Accountability to our donors and the children we serve is a priority in all that we do.

Ending one year and beginning another is a natural time to reflect on everything we do to help children live better days. In the middle of complex paperwork, it occurs to me that at the heart of every move we make is a profound story. Read more of Jim’s message.

Jim at the well

Jim and friends in Ethiopia quench their thirst at a new well, thanks to our donors!
