JEAN’S LEGACY: A CLASS ACT

Grant Devonshire and his late wife Jean have been supporters of Canadian Feed The Children for seven years. In their early years of giving, they sponsored a child and donated to many charities. Grant explained, “We felt that we could make more of an impact if we selected fewer charitable organizations to give to, and focused our attention on those.” Canadian Feed The Children was one of the charities that they selected and after Jean passed away, Grant continued to give donations in her honour.

His continued support helped improve the living situation of hundreds of children around the world. “I wanted my wife to be remembered for her love of children and knew that giving to Canadian Feed The Children was the perfect way to honour her,” he said.

Last year, Grant made the decision to put the money he was donating towards building a classroom in his wife’s name. The classroom stands in Ethiopia and a plaque hangs in the classroom. Grant’s loving decision to fund this project has ensured that Jean’s name will forever be remembered by students now and for generations to come.
