POSTCARDS FROM UGANDA

“Until now, I never really understood what a difference our support makes. I will never again doubt that a few people can have an impact. And I’ll never forget the children’s smiles that say a thousand words and overcome any language barrier.” Meaningful words on a postcard home from Uganda, Africa.

In September/October 2010, Canadian Feed The Children led a group of seven supporters on a life-changing tour of the organization’s programs in Uganda. Visiting homes, primary schools, vocational training workshops, day cares and health care facilities, the travellers got to experience first-hand the difference their generosity makes.

Each of the communities shared their stories and welcomed the group with presentations, speeches, songs and dancing. Hundreds of people – including families we help, government representatives and media – came out to show their appreciation and to meet the visiting Canadians. Some of the days were emotionally draining, but the lasting sentiment was one of hope, inspiration and admiration for the great work being accomplished with Canadian support.

“I can say without doubt that our donor dollars go far. Despite extremely difficult circumstances, the results can be seen a thousand different ways. I’m proud to represent the many donors who make this work possible.”
