UNDECORATE A TREE OF HOPE FOR HAITI
Walk into an Athletic Club across Ontario and you are likely to be welcomed by a large Christmas tree, decorated with paper ornaments displaying images of school supplies, medicines and clean water. The proceeds from the ornaments sold off these “Trees of Hope” go directly to families in Haiti. This is just one of the initiatives The Athletic Club has undertaken to help mark the one-year anniversary of the earthquake that devastated Haiti on January 12, 2010. It is their hope that this campaign sparks a renewed interest among supporters to help Haiti continue to rebuild as 2011 begins.
The Athletic Club will match up to $50,000 for a total of $100,000 that will be sent to Haiti. During the holiday season and into the new year, The Athletic Club will be hosting several events to support Canadian Feed The Children, such as a “Five Day Walk for Haiti”, followed by an “Aerobathon”. Check out their fundraising page to learn which Ontario locations are participating and how you can support them.
