Girls education – primary

Social, cultural and infrastructural barriers often prevent girls from attending or graduating from school at much higher rates than boys. In CFTC donor-supported communities, the value of education for girls is highlighted through direct programming like supporting parents with school fees and building “girl-friendly” classrooms with private latrines – as well as indirect supports, including income-generation projects and community awareness sessions that help expand options for parents and community leaders to keep their girls in school.
