Raising the Rhythm in Toronto
On February 27, a packed Al Green Theatre in downtown Toronto was humming with excitement as people filed into the theatre and scrambled to find seats. As the curtains parted the crowd became fully engaged in a captivating show, which combined up-and-coming fashion designs from local designers with intricate dance performances.
Dani Kagan, Jessica Domingo and Victoria Marshman were the driving force behind the event, and their creation was inspirational. The event was a great showcase of local talent, while also effectively helping to raise funds for CFTC.
“On behalf of all of us from Raise the Rhythm, we would like to thank Canadian Feed the Children for their help in making the show a success and for doing such great work in Canada and around the world. We exceeded our expectations and successfully raised over $4000 for CFTC,” Dani Kagan said.
Designers, models and professional dancers donated their time and energy to be a part of the show and to help raise awareness for CFTC. “We hope the audience was inspired by the artistry that lives within our Toronto community, and we hope that they moved you as much as they move us in our every day lives,” Dani said.
The event was such a huge success, the team is currently brainstorming ideas for next year’s Raise the Rhythm! If you are interested in creating your own fundraiser, check out our community fundraising page for more details.
