Supporter Services FAQ
All of us at Canadian Feed The Children are committed to ensuring your support brings every opportunity for health and well-being to the children we serve. If you have a question about donating, or any additional questions, please contact a member of our Supporter Services team.
If I donate to Canadian Feed The Children, do I get a receipt for income tax purposes?
Yes. No matter how you make a financial donation to us – with a single gift, by sponsoring a child or by giving monthly as an Everyday Hero – you will be receipted for your contributions. See the Government of Canada’s policy statement for charitable tax receipts.
When will I get my tax receipt?
For a single donation, you will receive a charitable tax receipt within two weeks of your donation (or immediately by email if you donate online). As a monthly donor (child sponsor or Everyday Hero) you will receive one official charitable tax receipt in February (in time to prepare your taxes), for the total donations of the previous year. If you have misplaced your tax receipt or have any inquiries about receipting, please contact our Supporter Services team.
What are my payment options?
You may make single donations via MasterCard, Visa, American Express, cash or cheque. You may donate in person or by phone, mail, or online.
The most convenient and cost-effective way to make a monthly donation or sponsor a child is through pre-authorized payments from your chequing account or credit card. Pre-authorized payments make sponsorship easier by eliminating the need for postage, monthly cheques and reminder letters. Any way you choose to support us is an important decision that makes a vital difference in the life of a child.
Can I choose a specific country/project to support?
As a single gift donor, you may choose to direct your donation to a specific appeal, or to one of the seven countries we support.
Our child sponsors currently support our programs for children in Bolivia, Ethiopia, Ghana, Haiti and Uganda.
Our Everyday Heroes monthly supporters enable us to respond to the needs of the countries while keeping administration costs low. This consistent support is vital for the continuation of all our programs for children. In special situations, we are able to offer the ability to direct funds to a specific country, fur further information on this, please contact a member of our Supporter Services team.
With our Best Gift Ever gift catalogue, you can choose a specific type of program to support, for example, malaria protection, school support, health care or clean water access.
Do you issue financial statements?
Yes. We prepare and print an annual report each year (if you would like a printed copy mailed to you, please let us know). We also post our annual report and our financial statements online. You may obtain full, audited Canadian Feed The Children financial statements by contacting a member of our Supporter Services team.
We thank you for your kind support!
