Elisena Baptitse carried her child for miles to get to the health clinic we support in Haiti. She arrived exhausted and worried. She waited, with dozens of other mothers and children in the mid-day heat, holding her sick baby close. She had no money, but she couldn’t imagine anything would keep her child from being well again.

Her name was called. The baby was given treatment to make her well. The nurse spent time with Elisena, talking about important things like nourishment, hygiene, sanitation and how to prevent disease. And no money was required. Elisena was overcome with relief.

This all happened because Canadian Feed The Children and our partners work together to send a very clear message to families affected by poverty: you are not alone. There are many people in your community, and in Canada, who are here to help.
