  • Atelier 850 is an independent organization offering a summer day camp, an after school program and community activity programs to help improve the health and well-being of the community's children
  • We provide school children from primarily new immigrant low income families with an after-school snack program, food preparation workshops and summer camp breakfast/lunch and dinner

Eel Ground Reserve School
Eel Ground, New Brunswick

  • Eel Ground School is a K-8 school located in the First Nations community of Eel Ground, New Brunswick that focuses on culture, tradition and technology.
  • We provide breakfast, lunch and nutrition education to children in kindergarten through Grade 8 at the reserve school.  We also support an after-school computer graphics programs for youth graduates of the elementary school.

Elsipogtog First Nations School
Big Cove, New Brunswick

  • Elsipogtog School takes the responsibility to provide a quality education in a safe and caring environment by promoting/encouraging: Respect for self and others; Its unique cultural identity; Children to take responsibility for their actions; Children to be given the skills needed to develop social responsibilities
  • We provide a nutritious breakfast and lunch for children in kindergarten through Grade 8 at the reserve school, using as much traditional and local food as possible.  Nutrition education is a daily component of the school curriculum and most of the children’s daily nutrition components will be met by the school meals.

First Nations School of Toronto Jr & Sr
Toronto, Ontario

  • First Nations School of Toronto is an elementary school (JK to Grade 8) with an enrollment of approximately 75 students from across the city of Toronto. Aboriginal values, spirituality, culture and Ojibway language are integrated into the school curriculum.
  • We are funding a nutritious lunch program for the children of this inner-city school.

Mah-Sos School
Tobique First Nation, New Brunswick

  • Mah-Sos School is an elementary school on the Tobique First Nation in New Brunswick.
  • We are funding a nutritious lunch program for the children of the school.

REACH -Regina Education and Action on Child Hunger
Regina, Saskatchewan

  • REACH works with schools, day cares, and other child-serving groups and agencies to ensure that every child in its community has safe and nutritious food available to them, and the food-related learning opportunities which will help prepare children for a healthy, happy and independent adulthood.
  • We work with REACH to provide dairy support to pre-school/school and youth feeding programs primarily serving Aboriginal children and youth. We also contribute to the milk subsidy for primarily aboriginal families that use the REACH affordable healthy food store.

Saddle Lake Boys & Girls Club
Saddle Lake, Alberta

  • We provide a nutritious snack and evening meal prepared by a cook and youth helpers for any hungry child coming to the after-school program. We also provide culturally appropriate nutrition education to parents attending monthly Feasts.

School Lunch Association
St. John’s, Newfoundland

  • Operates a non-stigmatizing program that provides hot, nutritious lunches to primary and elementary school children, regardless of their family’s ability to pay.
  • We provide funding for nutritious hot lunches throughout the school year.

Thompson Boys and Girls Club
Thompson, Manitoba

  • Focuses on the positive potential of every child, tackling a broad range of critical problems facing young people in our society today, including substance abuse, teen pregnancy, juvenile delinquency and crime, youth unemployment and child poverty.
  • We help provide a hot evening meal and snack in a safe environment to every hungry child that uses the facility after school, and provide nutrition information services to youth and young adults at risk that use the facility for basic life skills training.

We are proud to have built new partnerships with the following reserve schools in 2008. At each school, we will be topping up the existing nutrition program with funding to provide additional healthy food for the community's children.

Regional Advisory Information and Network Systems (RAINS)
Tamale, Ghana

  • This partner focuses on the integrated nature of development, determining culturally appropriate methods of addressing chronic and contemporary problems. Their approach is to promote sustainable grassroots structures, as well as address the rights of women and children.

Our partners in Haiti

Organization de la Mission Evangelique de Salem (OMES)
Thor 65 and Cameau, Haiti

  • OMES provides health services to the local population at affordable rates, emphasizing dental care, health care of prenatal and lactating women and their children, vaccination coverage, nutritional assistance and medical education in hygiene, child care, maternal care, sexual and reproductive health, family planning, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV/AIDS. In Cameau, OMES operates a mobile health unit to provide basic medicine and vaccinations, enriched milk, vitamin and mineral supplements, and health education.

House of Hope Orphanage (HOH)
Port-au-Prince, Haiti

  • HOH provides shelter, education and nutritional support to more than 200 orphans. Funding is provided through our child sponsorship program.

Service Oecumenique d’Entraide (SOE)
Goyavier, Haiti

  • SOE’s project is aimed at providing assistance to the local population affected by severe poverty and lack of food security through medical attention, nutritional education, sanitation and income generation.

International Child Care (ICC)
Delmas, Haiti

  • We work with ICC in supporting Grace Children's Hospital. We fund a feeding program for children in-patients and have helped improve operational areas within the hospital, including the renovation of the recreation room to offer activities aimed at fostering the social and intellectual development of growing children.
