Improving access to education

Our objective is to create the opportunity for children to participate in pre-primary development and primary school education.

There is no denying the importance of an education in preparing children to live full, strong lives. Families affected by poverty often face great barriers to making this happens for girls and boys who are eager to learn, so we bring a long-term approach to building local education services and creating innovative ways for families to access them. We work closely with local communities to identify needs and to meet the highest standards of education. We also reach out to local governments to identify the gaps.

We work with our local partners to bring children and education together. Some of the ways we do that include:

  • provision of school uniforms, supplies and materials
  • school feeding programs
  • construction of classroom blocks and teacher accommodation
  • provision of school furniture
  • establishment of alternative education centres

Take a look at the photo gallery in each country we support, and you’ll see evidence of some of the ways we help children thrive by increasing access to education.
