Uganda has been a big part of our programming history. We’ve had a presence there for over 20 years and it was the first country in which we introduced our Child Sponsorship Program.
We’ve had such a strong and lasting impact on some communities that we have moved on to more vulnerable program sites, leaving families with new ways to generate income, to keep their children well and educated, and to provide regular and nourishing meals.

We provide families affected by HIV with home-based care kits and support to improve their home, raise goats or sheep, grow crops and become integrated back into their community.
For stronger livelihoods, we provide goats that deliver milk for improved nutrition and, as they reproduce and are sold to other families, provide greater income.
Our new community partner CEDO works to increase the capacity of families to manage income-generating activities and to enhance early childhood education.
