Accountability in all matters
Fiscal responsibility is important to us at Canadian Feed The Children and is achieved through our mandate to:
- focus resources on the children and communities we serve
- be highly accountable to our donors
- uphold our vital programming principles, which have been adapted from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
These principles include gender equality, environmental responsibility, community participation, partnership and ethical allocation of resources.
In 2011, we directed 82 per cent of our $15.1 million in expenditures to our programs for children; 13 per cent was directed to fundraising activities; and five per cent went to administration expenses. In addition to funding important development work in six countries, we also provided life-saving medicines to vulnerable children and families in Uganda.
For details on how your generous donations helped children in 2011, please see our annual report and audited financial statements.
