Katie Morton, Mike Brouwer &
Colin Campbell

In September 2008, Colin Campbell started raising awareness for clean drinking water when he biked from Toronto to Halifax. On his way across Canada he stopped at schools to talk to kids about what they could do and how important it is to get involved. After arriving in Halifax, friends started getting involved; visiting elementary schools, showcasing films on Dalhousie Campus and attending and participating in several conferences. In March 2009, Colin and his friends, Katie Morton and Marsha Doucette, went to Istanbul, Turkey to attend the 5th World Water Forum where they met many motivated and courageous young people. With their organization, Hydro Heroes, Colin and friends continue to raise awareness about the world’s need for clean water through various fundraising activities.

On August 22, 2009, Colin will be participating in his first Olympic Triathlon at the Pushor Mitchell Apple Triathlon in Kelowna, BC. He is dedicating this bike ride to the people of Karpani, Bolivia. Colin learned about the harsh reality of the water problems many Bolivians face in the documentary FLOW: For Love Of Water which they showcased in Halifax. Colin would like to raise enough money for Canadian Feed The Children to ensure this village has the water they need to live. His goal is to raise $5,000 to help pipe water into each house in the village so that everyone will have a safe and reliable water source.
