Everyone remembers their childhood ‘blankie’. That special cover or quilt that brought us comfort and warmth. A security blanket to keep close by.

It’s these images of comfort, safety, security and refuge that inspired the Quilt of Hope Project – a grassroots initiative to provide life-saving care for hundreds of sick children in Haiti.

The Quilt of Hope Project aims to raise money to help bring nourishing meals and vital medical care to children suffering from Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. Once completed, the Quilt of Hope will be delivered by Canadian Feed The Children to the children of Grace Children’s Hospital, where it will be hung with pride – a symbol of hundreds of Canadians who care!

Thank you for helping raise $11,000 for Grace Children's Hospital in Haiti!

The beautiful Quilt of Hope is completed, and is now being enjoyed by the children of Grace.

Many gifts were made in the name of generous supporters and in honour of someone special.

Each donation is marked on the quilt with a name – a tribute to the benefactor and an inspiration for the children of Grace. Along the border of the quilt, the names of donor towns and cities show a strong network of communities coming together for children.

Behind the Quilt: Gillian Wilson, organizer from Peterborough, Ontario (right); Tessa Macdonald, quilter from Clear Lake, Ontario and Maryland D.C., (left), and Anne Philpot, organizer from Marmora, Ontario (centre).

All of us at Canadian Feed The Children appreciate every supporter who donated toward the quilt. Your kind contributions will make a huge difference for the children patients of the hospital.

We are overwhelmed and extremely grateful to the hard-working, dedicated women behind the quilt. Thank you so much!
